Hurricane Shelter Donations This Wednesday & Thursday
It has come to our attention today that Glenwood Baptist Church in Marion is now sheltering people from our mountain counties who are displaced due to the effects of Hurricane Helene. As of October 1, approximately one hundred and eighty people are staying at Glenwood Baptist, and they are expecting more. The church is preparing meals, offering showers, and providing sleeping arrangements. They are in desperate need of non-perishable food items, preferably some that do not require water to prepare since their water supply has not been consistent. They also need hygiene items, baby supplies, and blankets.
We are going to collect these items on Wednesday, October 2 at 5:00 pm. through Thursday, October 3rd at 6:00 pm. There will be a trailer parked under the portico at the church if you would like to drop off any supplies by placing them inside the trailer.
The morning of Friday, October 4th, our pastors will deliver the supplies to Glenwood Baptist Church.
